I'm linking up with the pleated poppy's What I Wore Wednesday(wiww) again for some fun.

I've never hid the fact that I have a mild disdain for sweaters. Deep down I believe I was meant to live someplace warm. Some faraway place with sandy beaches, sunshine and no need for sweaters. But alas, Michigan is not that place. And I live in Michigan.
Many people are shocked by my annoyance with sweaters. They just don't get it. I think either they have low thyroid issues or they are young and have no hormone problems. I am not young and luckily don't suffer from any thyroid disorders (although I had mine checked out because I was so tired, but the doctor said "um, your blood work is fine, you're just tired from having four young children," waaaah). But my hormones are f#&*ed up, so I get hot, a lot.
I think I've found some ways to sport a sweater and not be too hot to handle. Here's my sweater criteria list:
The Cardigan- It's perfect for someone like me who can't commit to a full sweater.
This sweater is from a small boutique in my town that sadly went out of business. |
This sweater came from that same boutique that closed. I guess I should've bought more sweaters. |
The Loose Neck- This is extremely important. I once heard a comedian say a turtleneck was like a very weak person choking you and I totally agree. A sweater with a loose neck helps with the non-choking feeling and making it a little cooler (in all ways).
This sweater is from a fabulous store in Pittsburgh called Figleaf (which I want to link to their web site, but it's under construction, whomp, whomp). |
Thin V-Neck- I love this. Layer it for colder days or wear it alone for a great look without the heat. There is a lot of flexibility with a thin v-neck.
This only non-grey sweater is from my beloved Old Navy. |
Hey, now that I'm getting a little more into sweaters check out this trend: Cosby sweaters. Click here to read about how the patterns of the 80s are back in style. I could get into that, as long as it had the above criteria of course.
